What is DrivingElectric.org?
DrivingElectric.org is a nonprofit startup -- a collaboration between the major plug-in driver groups to create a one-stop resource for anyone intrigued by electric vehicles. Working together with community and advocacy groups, and soon including automakers and dealers, we have launched an online community and searchable directory. Through personal engagement and the power of online networking, we are connecting current plug-in drivers with consumers who want to make informed decisions about their next vehicle.
By connecting plug-in drivers to the community at large, we will accelerate the widespread adoption of electric cars, reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy security. From driver-to-driver, our goal is to charge a nation of plug-in drivers… because life is better fully charged!
DrivingElectric is jointly sponsored by three plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) driver/advocacy nonprofit organizations [images are stacked for usability on mobile devices]:
Plug In America
Electric Auto Association
In the coming months, we will be inviting organizations with an interest in PEVs and companies in the PEV and related industries to become partners. Their participation will take many forms. Write us at email@example.com to discuss partnership opportunities.
DrivingElectric Team (alphabetically)
We're looking for part-time or full-time volunteers to join our team. When we launched in September 2012, we had some paid staff and some volunteers. For the coming months, we'll be devoting available funds to technology. Can you help manage the project, supervise technical development, develop partnerships, promote and market DrivingElectric as a "utility" for the EV industry, curate content, and track when contacts between the EV-curious and EV drivers lead to new EV purchases? Contact us -- see Get Involved.
